" L'uomo si affascina dei suoi ricordi e delle suggestioni piene di pathos che scaturiscono da questi. Così davanti a rovine del passato ci facciamo prendere da forti sentimenti. La mente corre ai Greci, ai Romani e ad altre civiltà passate da millenni, ma non ci stupiamo se queste forti emotività ci sorprendono anche di fronte alle rovine di un passato tanto recente, come davanti alle fabbriche abbandonate, che fanno ormai parte della così detta archeologia industriale.

Tetre figure si stagliano contro cieli ormai senza più aria, sopra terre gravate da tanta materia in corruzione. Là dove un tempo risuonavano assortanti rumori, il parlare forte di uomini operosi, oggi aleggia un silenzio da fare paura, la stessa paura che proviamo davanti alla morte, gelida come il vento che spira prepotente fra le lamiere arrugginite..."

" Men belong to their memories and to the haunting reveries they bring. Thus in front of the ruins of time past strong feelings overwhelm us.

We imagine ancient Romans and Greeks and many civilizations long gone, but not surprisingly ruins from a past not so distant in time can bring by emotions just as strong. Then in front of these ruined factories, a different kind of archaeology, we imagine dismal figures against dark skies, standing over corrupted land. Where once droning noises clamoured and the powerful voices of hard working men, today a scary silence floats, and deathly feelings overcome us, cold as death itself the wind that blows through the rotting deformed ruins.."
